Triangulation Method In Garden Design
Using one wall of the house as one of your triangle sides you take another 2 measurements from each end of the wall to the same corner which then gives you your three side of a triangle.
Triangulation method in garden design. Suppose the example on the earlier page had a plot that wasn t square. Figure 2 6 demonstrates this. On a scale ruler select the the same one as you used to draw in the house and open the compasses to the length of the distance from the first point.
The power of triangulation in design research. A triangle which measures 3 units along its base 4 units along its side and 5 units along its hypotenuse will always have a right angle at the point where the base and side meet. Triangulation is used to fix the corners of the garden and the position of trees etc.
This involves taking two measurements from a fixed point that is square onto the page usually the house to the point that you wish to plot. We were tasked with understanding how people experience garden maintenance. A 3 4 5 triangle is a useful way of checking and setting up right angles.
Given the broad topic area we decided that only using one method. Take a measurement from each of the two fixed points to the point you are trying to plot.
